Data Steward –  Supply , Logistics & Sales (Ref 39)

The Data Steward will have ownership of the data and set the strategic direction for the data domain this close collaboration with the business as well as the overall data governance for the specific domain.  Data Stewardship is required for data implementation and data management to succeed. An example of what they may do to achieve this is drafting the data quality rules which their data is measured against.  Key Responsibilities of the role include:

• Setting the strategic direction for the data domain
• Leading data standardization, drives domain data standardization and system alignment and improvements for the relevant data domain
• Acting as a data expert within the domain
• Planning and designing future data availability within data domain expertise
• Providing information to internal stakeholders on data lifecycle within his/her domain expertise (from collection till decommission) and how this data can support business objectives, including the use of technology to facilitate this.
• Maintaining data control in data governance on a day-to-day basis as well as specific activities to be involved in keeping the data clean on a regular basis.
• Creating and maintaining the documentation of the domain data definitions and domain data use
• Fostering a culture that views data as a competitive asset and define clear goals for data-quality improvement.
